The Chinese Language Council International—better known has Hanban—is China’s official agency to promote Chinese language and culture around the globe.
As part of that mission, Hanban provided more than $1 million for the creation of MSU’s new online video game that teaches Chinese culture and language.
The game, called Zon/New Chengo, was created by Yong Zhao, a Chinese native and MSU University Distinguished Professor of educational psychology and educational technology.
Hanban is composed of members from 12 state ministries and commissions in China, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture.
