On Sunday, June 26, 2011, U2 will bring their spectacular U2 360° tour to Spartan Stadium for one night only! The concert had been postponed last year due to lead singer Bono’s emergency back surgery.
“We’re delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play,” said U2’s manager Paul McGuinness. “It hasn't been easy to accomplish this, and I'd like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They’re the best, and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience.”
Tickets purchased for the June 30, 2010, Spartan Stadium performance will be honored at the door. Additional tickets for the rescheduled performance are available at ticketmaster.com. Refunds can be obtained through the original point of purchase. (Ticketmaster customer service: 1-800-745-3000, MSU Ticket Office: 1-800-GO-STATE).
U2 360° is presented by Live Nation Global Touring.
With a cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage with rotating bridges, the band has truly created an intimate 360º experience for concert goers.
The band, formed in Dublin, Ireland consists of Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen.
U2 has released 12 studio albums, with worldwide sales totaling more than 145 million records, and they have won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band. In 2005, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility. Rolling Stone magazine listed U2 at #22 in its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.
Florence and The Machine will open the show. For complete tour and ticket information, visit www.U2.com.
