Among MSU’s extensive research in—and about—China is a project by professor Jianguo “Jack” Liu to study and ultimately protect the country’s biodiversity, which includes an effort to catch and observe a giant panda. MSU’s turfgrass scientists, meanwhile, are building the portable athletic field in Beijing National Stadium for the 2008 Summer Olympics. And professor Yong Zhao has created the world’s first comprehensive online game for teaching Chinese culture and language.
