Student research to be displayed at Founders' Day lunch
By Elizabeth Sherman
In conjunction with various Founders' Day campus celebrations, research conducted by MSU graduate and undergraduate students will be shown during the Feb. 11 Founders' Day luncheon.
The luncheon will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Big Ten rooms of the Kellogg Center. A slideshow highlighting the works of 17 student researchers will be displayed before the luncheon.
“Research conducted by students is part of MSU's educational mission,” said Karen Klomparens, dean of the MSU Graduate School said. “We highlight student research during Founders' Day because it links the broad mission of MSU in teaching, research and outreach.”
The slideshow will include a photo and a brief profile on the student as well as his or her research project.
Students will not make presentations but have been invited to attend the luncheon and will be available if members of the audience have questions.
President Lou Anna Kimsey Simon will give a pre-installation speech, and MSU Board of Trustees chairperson David Porteous also will speak.
The luncheon is for invited guests who are being asked to park in the Wharton Cener parking ramp and register in the Wharton Center lobby to receive a nametag.
Guests will be transported to the Kellogg Center by bus for the luncheon. After the luncheon, guests will be transported by bus back to the Wharton Center for the Founders' Day Celebration, awards convocation and installation.
