The YouVote campaign was created after the 2000 presidential election when there was confusion among college students voter registration, candidates and voting. Talks between leaders in East Lansing and Michigan State University resulted in the creation of the YouVote campaign.
The goals of YouVote are threefold:
YouVote meets as a committee, comprised of interested students, organizations, faculty and staff. Through different events, initiatives and their Web site, YouVote strives to support and encourage voting and voters for each election.
