Fostering Partnerships for Sustainability among Timber Importers and Exporters

Abstract: This presentation will use data for several dozen timber exporting and importing countries including China, United States, Japan, and many tropical countries to demonstrate relations among those countries' timber export and import, timber production and utilization, household dynamics, and forest change. The presentation will also offer suggestions for developing and promoting partnerships among importing and exporting countries to achieve sustainable forest management at the national and global levels.
